April 29, 200718 yr Anyone know if there's a store in Pattaya that supplies Dell computer parts? Specifically looking for a replacement keyboard for an Inspiron 8600. Cheers.
April 29, 200718 yr Good luck. When I tried to get a new keyboard in Chiang Mai I had no luck. All I ever heard was Dell doesn't provide support in Thailand. I understand there is a big Dell service center in Singapore, if you ever get there or want to contact them and arrange shipment, that may be a viable alternative.

DELL has strong presence in Thailand, more within corporate than in general public world. Since all their products are sold directly and factory is just in Penang, it's hard to believe they would leave customers in Thailand unserviced. If you go to DELL web site and at the bottom chose "Thailand" as "Country/Region", it is in English, you may find something.
April 29, 200718 yr If eBay is an option for you, here's the keyboard you need for $42 USD (including the shipping to Thailand). You can find them even cheaper if you look. Either way, hard to beat the price. FYI: I have ordered from that specific seller (synaptic-systems) on several occasions and they shipped right to my place here in Chiang Mai without any problems.
April 29, 200718 yr Author Thanks Rice King. That's an option. I'm going to Pattaya tomorrow anyway which is why I asked the specific question. I was hoping there might a Pantip style place there. If not, I'll probably wait till I'm next in Bangkok. Have also emailed Dell support to see if they can quote me.
April 29, 200718 yr roog: If you have any luck finding a keyboard in Thailand, please post your success with details and I will do the same as I have been without some keys for quite a while. Are you able to install a keyboard yourself or will you look to have someone else do it? I assume you have been speaking about a laptop.
April 29, 200718 yr Author ProThaiExpat - I will be installing myself. It's quite easy - look for the engineers manual on the dell site, eg here http://supportapj.dell.com/support/edocs/s...sm/keyboard.htm . Yes, it's a laptop (Inspiron 8600). There's nothing wrong with the keys themselves, so I could let you have those once I've replaced this. It's a common fault, possibly caused by heat as the failed keys are those near the cpu.
