Medical expert warns of disaster if govt eases quarantine restrictions for tourists

Rubber farmers impacted by storm 'Noul' to be compensated for losses

The Rubber Authority of Thailand would pay Bt3,000 per rai (0.16 hectare) to farmers whose rubber plantations were damaged by tropical storm "Noul", the Authority's deputy director-general of business and operation, Sukatas Tangwiriyakul, said.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Tens of thousands of Thais on Saturday flocked to a government-organised job expo with more than a million jobs up for grabs as it works to stem mounting unemployment in an economy battered by the coronavirus pandemic.

Phuket drug raid nets 7.6kg of ya ice, 12k pills of ya bah

PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Police have arrested six suspects in a slew of raids, with one arrest alone resulting in more than 7.6 kilograms of crystal meth (ya ice) and more than 12,500 pills methamphetamine (ya bah) being seized. The remaining arrests saw smaller amounts of drugs.

ST. HELENA, Calif. (Reuters) - A wind-driven wildfire erupted on Sunday in the heart of northern California's Napa Valley wine country and spread across more than 1,000 acres (404 hectares), forcing the evacuation of several hundreds homes and a hospital, authorities said.
