Interpol Red Notice issued for "Boss" - but pointless if he's switched passports

Thai media Daily News reported that Interpol has contacted the Royal Thai Police (RTP) to inform them that they have issued a Red Notice for Vorayuth Yoovidhya after receiving their request.

The RTP will be informed if the fugitive crosses the border into any of the member nations of Interpol.

Interpol has 194 members, notes Thaivisa.

However the Red Notice is not a power of arrest.

Daily News cautioned that member nations might not even bother to inform the Thais about the fugitive's movements.

And if he has switched passports there is no way his movements will be recorded by anyone.

The heir to the Red Bull drinks fortune is wanted in Thailand on charges of reckless driving causing death and cocaine use in the death of a Thong Lo senior police sergeant in September 2012.

He reportedly last left Thailand in 2017.

Charges were dropped this year but a huge public and press outcry resulted in an inquiry and their reinstatement.

An inquiry into the activities of public prosecutors and senior policemen is ongoing.

Meanwhile the whereabouts of Boss are unknown.

The case has caused a huge scandal in Thailand along the lines of one law for the rich and one for the poor and alleged police corruption.

I saw a Ferrari with blood on the hood the other day, so watch your step in Tonglor.

Guaranteed he's changed his passport, but his finger prints will be the same, thats if they remembered to take them

One would assume a couple new passports and a plastic surgery no doubt to alter his look, and  rub off or again, alter his finger print profile that's the least i would have done in his shoes and his vast resources...

I thought the RTP repeatedly said they didn’t know where he was. And yet three years ago he was right under there nose. Still, if you don’t want to catch someone you won’t. Too many stuffed brown envelopes in this one. I hope he dies a horrible death, like his victim did.

Thai citizens have to submit their finger prints at the time they present themselves and apply for a passport. Nowadays, they must also provide an iris scan at the same time.

It's the same with Thai ID cards; citizens must submit their finger prints at the time they apply or renew.

Just issue a missing person bulletin.

Passport of Cayman Islands/Paraguay/Albania/Sealand/Conch Republic;

Gender reassignment (a breeze for a man of his fragile physique);

Facial plastic surgery (remember that "Face Off" movie?);

Dyed hair (he might be a platinum blonde bombshell now);

A tiny log cabin in the deep woods of Nunnavut (or a banana leaf hut in the Amazon);

F-1 races suspended for the time being;

Communicating with his family back home exclusively by carrier pigeon.

Financed through Western Union only.

Yup, it could be potentially impossible to locate him. Especially for the Thai Keystone Cops.

cant change his DNA profile though if they have it!

More interested in the investigation into the prosecutor and police who decided to end the case. Still waiting....

How does knowing where he is living help the RTP?

A UK passport applied for in Thailand carries no fingerprints or eye information because it is obtained by post. A rich person probably could obtain a new passport without fingerprints or eye ID.

So how does locating him if he's outside Thailand help the RTP?

If he put a but more skin whitening on his face he could pass as a ping pong ball - Well at least an ugly one!!

The red notice may have been issued but it's not displayed on Interpol's red notices site.

Possibly incorrect translation.

A huge reward would do wonders.

Sounds like everyone knows the Thai police are just putting on a show......why waste the time to even phone them?

Unless he want to alter his looks then the photograph of him would be the same as his finger prints.  Finger prints are a must in the passport. Thailand has your finger prints recorded once you enter,Malaysia also.

It will assist greatly in their endevours not to arrest him.

That's to good for him to die. He will be court,Brown envelope or not.

A great grand gesture to passify the passive.  Bossman has another passport by now, and Interpol does not pursue grand gestures from tinpots.   To say it was pointless is an understatement.

I wouldn't of thought that the new investigation resets the statute of limitations on the remaining charges.

I think we all know where Thaksin is, he does not many any secret of it, correct?

They have given him the years (he has the resources) to get all this done a long time ago.

They do not want to catch him,. would open up far to many questions about $$$$$
