Popular Post rooster59 Posted October 3, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 3, 2020 "Retired teacher" was selling plastic spoons to kids who forgot to bring their own Image: Daily News Posts on social media revealed that primary school children at a school in Sriracha, Chonburi, were forced to eat their lunch with their bare hands because the school had no cutlery. The claims caused widespread consternation among parents and netizens. This prompted Sriracha district chief Dongphon Rujithamthatch to send in a delegation to investigate. It was found to be true. Children had been told to bring their own cutlery to school. Those that forgot were charged 1 baht for a plastic spoon. This was sold to them by a female teacher who was supposed to have retired on September 30th but who was still living on campus. The retired teacher has claimed that this was a good way to teach the children to bring their own. But this angered many at the school, especially older children who paid out of their own pockets to help the little ones who forgot to bring cutlery. Free spoons have now been made available. Actually almost all schools have no toilet paper... those who do see the kids empty out the dispensers right after the first gym class after which it was replaced. The Thai kids use the tissue as a towel... Amazing Thailand 1
Pilotman Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 he's just teaching the kids entrepreneurship. Let's hope that they get the message, that you either rip off people, or get ripped off yourself, there is no middle road in Thailand for poor village kids .
briansbiology Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 too many schools allow this <deleted> or are complicit. Our international school charges late students a late fee. Under the guise of a deterrent. But for rich international school kids its preferable to pay the fee and be late and then not be held accountable while the school rakes in a little extra cash. Teachers cant even address the lateness as it has been 'dealt with' by the school. Just typical of a country where you can buy yourself out of trouble if you are rich. Shameful.........

moontang Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I was a guest teacher at one of the better middle schools in Arizona. We had a teacher with a vending machine on his desk that sold golf pencils for five cents. Perfectly, legitimate. Students could bring their own instead, and spending a day writing with a golf pencils, they usually did. And anyone, who has worked in education can tell you, it is a small handful of students that are habitually late, or unprepared for class, while mummy makes more than the teacher, by sing squirting out three or for kids.
