webfact
Smart payment to cover all charging stations in boost for Thai EV industry By The Nation Electric vehicle (EV) owners will be able to make cash-free digital payments at all charging station operators under a pilot scheme being launched early next year. The Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT) will launch the smart-card trial in Bangkok under a collaboration with its 11 partners, said EVAT president Krisda Utamote. The move should help boost the national strategy for electric vehicles, which includes domestic manufacture of EVs and components such as batteries. EVAT is considering whether the system will use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) debit cards, RFID credit cards or even a mobile payment application. If the system proves successful, the association will seek to expand it to charging stations nationwide. Currently, Thailand’s charging station operators use different methods to collect payment and customer data. There are now 570 charging stations nationwide with a total of 1,800 charge-points. However, that number is rising fast as the trend for electric cars takes off. Thailand had just 1,572 registered EVs last year, but that number rose to 3,076 as of June and is expected to hit 5,000 by the end of the year. Charging stations are now popping up across the country, especially at department stores to serve shoppers who own EVs. Grumpy John
Why not have solar panels in the boot that foldout...or better still the body of the car is one big solar panel??? If wonder boy can make roof tiles that act as solar panels surely he can make car bodies as solar panels.
canopy
Wonder boy announced a solar panel roof option for the cybertruck (below photo). But you get merely 25km/day with it. That is why you don't see car makers doing this. More recently wonder boy said he will make fold out solar wings that increase the cybertruck solar charging to 60km/day. So as long as you don't drive over 400km a week maybe an option. Then again, not clear if Tesla will ever be sold in Thailand. 1

canopy
That's interesting you can get Tesla's on that web site. However, who is going to pay double or triple the cost of what people pay for the same car in other countries? This is the problem with EV's in Thailand. Almost no one wants them because they jack up the prices to obscene levels and there seems no logical justification for this. Not just Tesla, but all of them. Where is this hidden tariff coming from? Is the petroleum industry behind it?

Their intentions are to start producing EV's in Thailand and cut taxes on them in order to boost sale. https://www.nationthailand.com/auto/30395790?utm_source=category&utm_medium=internal_referral

It seems, with current tech, the area of the vehicle will generate little electricity. Solar panels are not very efficient

Even the cars that are made in Thailand are more expensive than one shipped half way around the world. The system is a big scam, and most Thai people don't know anything else.
