How fast you got visa?

Recommended Posts

Don’t believe anyone who uses such hyperbolic language in such circumstances - Embassies do not hold your passport or anything else ‘hostage’ !!!

The Embassies do not need to see the the Covid-19 Negative certificate or Fit to Fly document before they release the Certificate of Entry.

The Embassies need to see your flight bookings, ASQ booking, Insurance, Marriage Certificate (or other reason to travel) and Visa before they issue the CoE.

The Covid-19 Negative certificate and Fit to Fly documents must be shown at check-in at the airport counter (and must have been taken less than 72hrs before flight departure).

Hi Joe, so what you are saying that embassy need to see covid test done 72hrs before they release your passport and visa from embassy? Im asking for a friend and embassy in europe.

Thing is he send passport to embassy 2-3 weeks before flight to Thailand and embassy say visa is ready and coe but they dont give passport back to him until 2-5 days before travel date. Is this normal? Could it be because they need see covid test done 72hrs before flight?

Basically no since the test and fit to fly is only needed to board the flight.

There may be some odd embassies that don't do it like others. I have not heard of them holding a passport or COE until the test is done.

Why the attack, you perhaps work in the embassy?

What else would you call it if his visa and coe are ready and they keep passport until couple days before flight? Why not give it to him already if they not need to see the covid test?!

Some says a negative test result less than 72 hours before departure. Does the certificate actually say when the test was done?

Three days from the time RTC DC received the documents. Sent on a Saturday via UPS overnight. Received Monday. COE emailed to me on Tuesday. Got passport with visa on Wednesday. Again, UPS overnight.

?? erm... thats a very odd post.

No one has attacked you - advice has been offered to be sceptical of information from someone who uses ‘hyperbolic language’ - Embassies do not hold passports hostage !!! the idea is preposterous, as is the suggestion that I might work in an Embassy - thats just very strange.

I think it is very strange to hold passport in embassy weeks and not tell reason for it. Dont think it happens in any other countries embassies.

How long before your flight did you got your passport with visa back?
