Doctor Concerned over RSV Outbreak

 

 

BANGKOK, Nov 3 (TNA) – A virologist expressed his concern over an outbreak of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes respiratory tract infections in young children.

 

Dr Yong Poovorawan, head of the Centre of Excellence in Clinical Virology at the Faculty of Medicine of Chulalongkorn University said the RSV is spreading among children aged below five years old.

 

The outbreak occurred after full scale school reopening in September particularly among kindergarten students and transmission has not subsided.

My son has to wear a mask and clean his hands with alcohol and have his temperature taken everyday when entering school. The other day 15min after dropping him off at school he vomited and had a huge fever so i took him to hospital which was a waste of time because they wouldnt do anything which was very strange but it cost me 2000thb!. Myself and my wife got sick almost immediately from him and we had to self medicate bevause we trust doctors less and less and thankfully we are all starting to get better. Im super healthy as is my wife and we rarely get sick but have been seriously sick 3 times in the last 2 months like stuck in bed feeling like dying. I guess masks and and all the other stuff doesnt actually work at all and there is some pretty bad flu strains going around aswell.

Makes me feel better. I have been coughing and had a fever for days.  I joke with my wife it is covid and she doesn't like it. Can't say I wear masks much.

The doctor should not be concerned, just do what they have done with Covid 19, No Test-No Have.  Or maybe it's Covid in disguise. Sssshhh!!!

Okay Doc Yong, surely you are rushing to your friends in the dinosaur government already, to ask them to keep the borders closed for at least 12 more months, right?

 

But please!!! This time tell them it is to protect the rest of the world and all us dirty foreigners from a new Thai disease, okay?

Very worrying that you can contract it so quickly and get sat on your backside... wonder what it is?

Have you had flu vaccination ?

When the headline said RSV I assumed it was Retarded Stupid Virus as that is very common in Thailand. ????

I guess they added you to the 400,000 plus under investigation list-It seems they don’t keep to test foreigners in the country

I dont know if it is the area I live but no one seems to wear except at 7/11. I went to Bangkok for a little and noticed lots of people wear them but not here.i just  have a cold. Should I wear a mask 24 hours to be sure of not getting another one.
