May 3, 200718 yr Hello, I have misplaced the cd with the driver for my Sierra Aircard 580. If someone has it, could they send it to me either by Pando or Yahoo Messenger or some other way. Thanks a bunch!
May 3, 200718 yr Be sure to use the CAT version of the driver, both software and firmware are supplier specific!
May 3, 200718 yr Author Well,, I just downloaded the driver from CAT, but it doesn't seem to work, the CAT logo isn't on the Aircard Watcher gui, and the connection settings aren't there either. I just put a pci to pcmcia adapter in my desktop to use the aircard with. Are there any special things you need to do to get it to work? When I installed the driver that I downloaded, it seems at least half the installation process was missing, I remember 3 or 4 different popups at the bottom when I first installed on my laptop, saying this and that had been found and installed. With this installation, only the aircard was found, and then something about an usb host controller, which then failed to install properly. I tried 3 or 4 times, uninstalled, restart, etc. same thing. So I think I need a copy of the driver from someones CD...PLEASE!
May 4, 200718 yr Author Help! I can't get my aircard working on my PC with the pci-pcmcia adapter. I went to CAT and got a new driver, but I think there are some settings in the driver that are specific to that certain card. When I go to the "about" section of the Watcher gui, on my laptop it shows the phone number, serial number, software version, etc. On the PC this section is completely blank. And the card is not getting a signal. I'll try looking around in the program files for something, but if anybody has any clues, please let me know.
May 4, 200718 yr Are you sure Watcher is communicating properly with the card? With my aircard (775) the watcher program shows a little icon in the left upper corner if the card is detected or not. Have you tried the Power down / Power up option under tools? (that is assuming your watcher is similar to the 775 card version!)
