BANGKOK, Nov 11 (TNA) – The Public Health Ministry plans to propose shorter quarantine period for travellers from low-risk countries to the next meeting of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration.

Permanent secretary for Public Health Kiattiphum Wongrajit said the sub-committee of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration agreed to cut the mandatory quarantine period from 14 days to 10 days for businesspeople and tourists, holding the Special Tourist Visa from low-risk countries.

Those low-risk countries must record the number of new cases, similar to Thailand and implement strict disease control measures, he said.

Wouldn't a business person have a Non-B?

Help me to understand. Somebody has Corona when he comes. Does it make any difference if he comes from a high risk or low risk country? Corona is the same. So why only 10 days in one case and 14 days in the other case?

And all people coming into LOS on repatriation flight still need to do the 14 days quarantine stint.

It should apply for all travellers coming from "low-risk" countries.

What is the difference between a thai national coming from Taiwan, using a semi-commercial flight and a business dude with STV from Taiwan?

In fact, it should apply for all travellers, irrespective of their residence country, just make a mandatory requirement for a negative Covid-19 test.

No such thing as low risk countries... just keep the 14 days and stop fiddling around tempting fate.

UK is back to one month lock-down.... and many other Euro countries are in the same boat.
