How Koh Lanta Has Become Thailand’s Most Sustainable Tourism Destination

Another jewel that would soon be ruined with Thailands mass tourism and exploitation to get every baht available from something before it's destroyed.

Kho Lanta has been my favorite weekend escape while I was still living on Phuket. A great place to forget about the hassle of the island on the other side. It was always nice to be there, but I am afraid it will change - not for the better. I never saw the new bridge, it was finished after I escaped to Isaan. ????

Ko Rok and Ko Ha (heavily featured here) are untypical of Ko Lanta and only available on speedboat/dive tours. The snorkeling around Lanta itself is lousy (not like these pictures) . It’s about 1700 baht for a day trip to those islands . That said Lanta now about the best of the larger islands and quite a laid back atmosphere, but must be totally dead now
