JT65
Hi Guys We live in Chiang Mai Looking at taking the family down to Hua Hin around Xmas time for a 3 night stay. Never been before so seeking suggestions for a family. I have a 14 year old boy and a 1 year old baby. Like something on or close to the beach and a nice pool. Always like to get breakfast included. We will be driving and staying midway or close to that on the way down. Any suggestions on possible places to stay on the way down would be appreciated. Cheers JT

Jonathan Fairfield
The Marriott is very nice. Good for families. Pool, breakfast and location - all good. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/hhqmr-hua-hin-marriott-resort-and-spa/ G Hua Hin Resort on Soi 94 is good too. Wannara Hotel Hua Hin is a bit more basic but good location and decent enough rooms. Not sure what the breakfast is like. In the south of town in Khao Takiab is Anantasila Resort which is nice too: https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1177858-anantasila-hua-hin-exclusive-rates-for-thais-expats-living-in-thailand-expires-30-nov/
Pattaya Spotter
The Holiday Inn in Hua Hin is a nice new property and has a large waterpark as part of the property. It is a tower property with stunning views of the ocean. It is not oceanfront but set back a couple streets. Rooms now, which include access to the waterpark, are about $100 a nite, including breakfast. I believe you can also just come and pay if you want to use the waterpark. My other value recommendation is the Amari Hua Hin. It's at the southern end of town and again, the main property is not directly on the beach but a 10 minute walk away (no intervening main roads. They have a small satellite location on the beach for a secondary pool and a beachfront restaurant. Rooms here currently are about $75-100 per nite, including breakfast. There is also an Amari branded low-rise condo development next to the hotel with many units that can be booked on AirBnB, with rates from $25-$50 per nite but no breakfast. I believe the buffet breakfast can be bought at the Amari for B 400. If you want to go luxe and historical, the Centara Grand Beach Resort is the place to choose. It's a restored colonial style hotel right on the beach in the middle of town. A truly grand property with 4 pools, extensive gardens, and a host of other amenities. Centara is running some incredible promotions at the moment and this hotel can be booked, with breakfast, for rates around $50 per nite.
