Hi ,hopefully someone can help. I am about to fly from UK on a non O visa based on my Thai son (4 yrs old). London Embassy accepted Thai birth certificate as proof. I am not married.

Left Thailand in March and was planning to return April to go to court to legalise him as my son ( DNA test done in Feb).

My hope when I arrive is to extend my non O for another 60 days.

My query is will Thai Immigration Udon Thani accept my current non O as a basis for 60 day extension, if I fail to get through the court process and obtain Kor Ror from local Amphur before my 90 day non O runs out.

Also if I do manage to get through the Court process and apply for a 1 year extension based on my now "legal son" ,does that give me permission to stay for a full year or do I need to leave every 90 days using a re entry permit.

Many thanks in advance for guidance proffered.

The 1-year extensions are good for continuous stay in Thailand without border hopping but you will need to do 90-day reporting either in-person, via mail or online.

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your child without being their legal father.

They will need to be with you when you apply. You will need their birth certificate plus a copy of it and a copy of their house book registry.

Love you Ubonjoe....

Can I ask a further question....if I dont get through the Court system before having the 60 day extension can I still pursue the 1 year extension if I get through the court system during the 60 days extension period ?

You could apply for the one year extension near the end of 60 day extension.
