The Ministry of Finance and Krungthai Bank have agreed to change the money transfer criteria to businesses participating in the government’s shopping subsidy scheme “Khon La Khrueng” (Let's Go Halves), Government deputy spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said on Friday.

The scheme, which runs from October 23 to December 31, offers about 10 million citizens discounts of up to Bt150 per day on purchases at participating stores, capped at Bt3,000 throughout the period. The government, through Krungthai Bank, will transfer the subsidy amount to registered merchants via the Thung Ngern application.

“From Saturday November 14, the subsidy amount under the campaign will be transferred every day between 5.30pm to 7pm with no exception for public holidays, instead of disbursing the money on the next working day,” she said. “This move will enable small business operators and street merchants to have rotating funds on a daily basis.”

The Ministry of Finance’s latest data showed that as of November 13, the campaign has generated accumulated spending of over Bt13.7 billion. The ministry is also considering launching the second phase of the campaign early next year as a “New Year gift” to consumers.

So the registration started at november 11 (this month) is for a maybe discount early next year? Or can you, when the registration is approved, go with the current running first scheme?
