Living by superstition is not a good philosophy but choosing for lottery tickets it is a fairly harmless practice.

But why is it considered headline news?

No covid infections from ASQ ......

Few years ago asked vendor in Chinatown why lottery tickets had different prices... “Lucky numbers expensive, unlucky numbers cheap.” Bought ‘unlucky’ number... THB2000 won. Best result was that my wife instantly became less superstitious!

Yep, with all the holy fortune telling monks you would've thought Thailand would be the richest country in the world by now.

This year all the fortune tellers went bust.

My wife is superstitious as heck about the lottery. The problem is, she wins. Often and a lot. We've been together for 15 years and in that time she has won at least $12,000. She won $3500 6 months before we met. She doesn't spend a lot of money on tickets either. At most $10 a month and rarely that much.

She dreams about numbers and buys a lottery ticket. No dreams no buy!

Lottery   is  a hope  and  dream  something  to  hope for  does no  harm

However  many Thai spend too  much on these  lottery  dreams  and with a poplution  so high   the chances  are  vertually  Nil

I have this addiction in my wifes  own  area  paying for  tickets   rather than food for kids

Also  with corruption so high in Thailand  which  lottery tickets are genuine?

Good Luck Thailand

To paraphrase Steve Jobs, "I don't usually play lotto, but whenever I do play, I always choose the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 and 6; those numbers have the same chance of hitting than any random quick pick...which kinda shows the idiocy of playing."

Believing in lucky numbers is superstition, and I'm not superstitious, but my lucky number is 69. ????????????

You have to chose 6,2,5,3,1,4. That gives you a better feeling.

A lot of people do that and because (supposedly) numbers are reversed in your dreams, they will buy the reverse of the numbers they dreamt about. So they'd buy 68 and 86, 61 and 16, 53 and 35 and so on.

Meanwhile, it seems the secret number conspiracy theory didn't pan out. #68 and #29 didn't win. Close though as number 368 did win (naturally I had 768 and didn't win a thing).
46 did win and it wasn't listed once in all those percentages shown in the OP ! Hmmm, maybe it wasn't a secret announcement after all ?

I guess that ends my dreams of a HiSo lifestyle for another 2 weeks. Time to start dreaming some new lucky numbers and checking out dog khee on the street to see if any of it resembles a number. Can't be any worse than getting a fortune teller to tell me the same numbers !

Bought a car... gf used the red plate numbers and won. Most of the family did the same.... everyone happy with the only Farang in the village.

Picked a ripe papaya off a tree in our garden. Had numbers ingrained on its skin. Gf used them. Won. 2 weeks later half the village are up our ladder looking at the fruits. No more winners. No one happy with the only farang in the village.

Numbers off frogs, any fruit, car plates, dreams, parrot tasked with selecting numbers, temples, womens hairy legs, coffee stains, tea leaves, palms of someone's hands, leaves, dog poo.......

You forgot to mention the number that appears on the underside of the turtle that has crawled out of the nearby canal and onto to your land.  I assume you count the number of plates on the bottom of the shell.  If you then safely return the turtle to the canal your good fortune is assured.

Clearly the survey failed to consult my girlfriend in this matter . . .

Yep, they sell cheaper the numbers already won recently. Also on casinos you can check the latest numbers issued.

I was scared on 14-02-2020 due to the strange events regarding Covid-19 starting in China on 15-11-2019.  The news really started rolling in about Covid-19 on the 14-03-2020.  There were Celebrities talking in the news about it on 23-03-2020.  Most influential Thai Celebrities was voted on 07-12-2019.    The media published lucky numbers on 11-02-2020.

So now I have all the perfectly lucky numbers to pick from:
14-02-2020
15-11-2019
14-03-2020
23-03-2020
07-12-2019
11-02-2020
So all I have to do, (after I get my lottery ticket!), is turn around in a circle three times and click my heels and presto!  I win the lottery!   Oh! Ain't life Brilliant!

Rubbish, How many times do you see a person walk up and take a ticket at random. Nearly everyone stand and looks at the ticket for a particular number. What ever their reason it is superstition if they do not accept a random ticket.

Leaving the bar?  I guess that depends on the bar.  ????????

Of course sometimes it is worth waiting until you get home.

Indeed, some have in-house arrangements. lol
