97 police officers under scrutiny for Covid-19 allowance swindle

The National Internal Affairs Police is investigating a case assigned by National Police chief Pol General Suwat Jangyodsuk since November involving some police officers who had allegedly swindled Covid-19 allowance that was supposed to go to other officers who worked extra shifts during the outbreak, bureau chief Pol General Wissanu Prasatthong-Osot said on Tuesday.

 

“The result of the investigation should be ready in 10 days. Currently, 97 officers in 41 police stations ranging from non-commissioned to generals are under investigation for being involved in the swindle,” he said.

 

“The bureau aims to provide justice to all policemen involved. After the investigation concludes, the victims will receive their full allowance, while the offending officers will be punished under the law and disciplinary standards.”

 

Wissanu said he had submitted the list of offenders to the National Police chief and insisted that all would be punished without exception.

 

“The National Police chief had also ordered the transfer of offending officers at the commander and sub-commander levels out of their areas as per the investigation procedures,” he added.

I'd say pay these guys a decent wage, and then they wouldn't have to be criming. But then I wake up and realize they'd still do the criming.

RTP officers being crooks and even screwing each other? Inconceivable!

 

Everybody knows what an upstanding, uncompromisingly honest and duty-bound lot this entire force is, and how each single one of them serves as a beacon for the good image of Thailand in the world! 

More likely there were 97 officers not on the swindle in 41 stations and wonder how many exactly were pol- non-com-gens ????

Is there anything lower and more scummy than stealing people's overtime salary for yourself?  Yes, there is. Thinking that it's your right to do so 'cos of who you are.

555 as if the RTP will punish any of them for doing what comes naturally. They will be reminded on how to better cover their tracks so as not to leave a paper trail...

Totally normal behavior for the plod.

No more sickening as when Boss killed the cop on the bike and the first thing the officer on the scene did was try and help him get away with it. I don't know of many civilized countries where cop killers are protected by cops.

The current PM has not EVEN halted the sale of lottery tickets above their listed price of 80 Baht

in the six years he has been in power.

I would have thought that something this simple would have been an ease for someone this powerful.

  After all having proved he has to live in an army barracks, for protection surely he would be safe from the Lottery  ticket mafia.

If I were a gambling man, I would bet alot of money, that not a single one of these cops will ever see a single day in jail.

What would expect when they let the little red punk walk after killing one their own - it only took the right amount of folding stuff to facilitate.

It didn't need covid to facilitate thieving from your mates - it was already par for the course, the crime here is they didn't cover their a rses.....

97 Officers swindling Covid payments in a country that is claiming to have only 60 deaths from Covid.
