Thailand reports 279 new COVID-19 cases - 2 more deaths

 

 

Thailand confirmed 279 new coronavirus cases on Friday, and two additional deaths.

 

Of the new cases, 273 were local transmissions and 6 were imported cases from people on repatriation flights and in state quarantine centers.

 

Samut Sakhon (89) and Chonburi (51) reported the most new cases.

 

Cases have now been reported in 53 Thai provinces.

 

There were 2 new deaths reported, while a further 33 people have been discharged from hospital.

 

2,827 people remain in hospital or held in a migrant worker quarantine centre.

 

Thursday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 cases in Thailand to 7,163.

Where were the decedents from.  Ages and such are important in this day and age when everyone is saying that only those with a comorbidity or are old die, which is not always the truth.  Will wait to see an update as to the provincial spread.  Watching the news now, but nothing reported as of yet as they were still droning on about yesterdays cases.  Oops the new totals just showed up on the board and they are telling the provinces now.

You can keep track of their numbers on world meters. That’s in English. They are often a day late so look at “yesterday” for what was reported. There’s also Thai sources.

looking at the deaths in Thailand there were 7884 deaths last year (2020), how many were actually COVID, as in Europe even if you die from being in a car accident and you had COVID your are a number in the list of COVID deaths.

 

Also there are 0.9 deaths per 1m Poplulation, this means expect to see more.

It's possible there less repat' flights at the moment what with all the lock downs going on around the world. It must be difficult to arrange them when folks can't move around so readily.
