If you have to ask then you don't deserve or will ever understand an explanation.

The Republican Sedition Campaign will not succeed this time as everyone knows including them.  However, it can serve as a dry run for 2024 when stealing the electoral votes at the certification of the vote in Congress could be a real possibility.  After all, if the Rs had ten more seats or so in the House, they would indeed steal the election from Biden.  In. A. Heartbeat.

of course it won't succeed.  it's just political posturing, positioning themselves as "keepers of the flame" to pick up the base as trump becomes increasingly irrelevant (or incarcerated).

these are politicians, so parse....the....words.

Cruz and the other senators claim the Nov. 3 election "featured unprecedented allegations of voter fraud and illegal conduct."

if there were actual e-vi-dents of actual fraud or illegal conduct on a massive scale, it would have been produced by now.  instead we get claims of "allegations" of fraud.  we get binders of "affidavits."  we get hearsay and rumours.  in short, we get........bupkis.

as with guliani, when asked under oath if he was alleging fraud, we get........"no, your honour, this is not a fraud  case."

I am always surprised when someone responds to some ancillary point of a post I have made while ignoring the gist of the whole post.  Posts are not rorshachs, you know.

Hate is all they've got.

Actually it is not hate, but pity.

How can normally intelligent people accept as POTUS a man who continually lies and misstates easily provable facts for years.

Who is not enough of a man to accept defeat but is trying to overturn a free and honest election result claiming the results were fixed against him.

Who seems to have convinced his lawyer that there were multiple examples of electoral fraud, but his lawyer cannot offer any evidence in court, therefore getting the claim thrown out 60 time out of 61.

If he is the person that you want to be POTUS for the next 4 years, you have my sympathy and my pity.

The US constitution is a relic made by slave owners in 1787. The American “democracy” was fairly “progressive” at the time it was established, but that was centuries ago and it is totally outdated today. Any other country than USA would have realized that we now live in 2021 not 1787 and would have made many amendments, to reflect that.

He's Raphael, from Calgary.

Another Whig republican Sen, from Montana chimes in. Of course he easily won reelection by 10+ points in a state where almost all counties sent every voter a mail ballot and about 87% of the electorate voted by mail.

And that last paragraph is "the rub" as they say. Once State legislatures are empowered to change the results in their states the Trump has his coup!

Perhaps can expect the pressure to mount for State Legislatures to be given a role in choosing the President.

If that precedent is allowed, then democracy in America will be gone!

Actually, the US Constitution was written by the American aristocracy of the day as a defense against democracy, in particular, the tendency of the state governments in the decade prior to the Constitutional Convention of 1787 to implement both debt relief and paper money.  The Framers, who were all of the creditor class, feared that paper money would result in inflation devaluing their wealth, so the Constitution forbade the states from issuing paper currency, Article 1, Section 10.  They locked up the amendment process making the US Constitution the hardest to amend in the world.

The result is the the US Constitution cannot be fixed.  No one living now will ever see another amendment much less the abolition of the Electoral College and the Senate.  What's needed now is a new constitutional convention to write a new version from the ground up.

They are subverting democracy, violating their oaths, and in some cases (gohmert) calling for violence, all because they don't like the fact their manchild got his butt handed to him in a landslide loss. They are also showing that racism is a core part of this Party, as the votes they contest all happen to come from districts and precincts where Black Americans are the majority voter.

This current gop represents a greater threat to the US than al Qaeda.

If true that the votes they contest all happen to come from districts and precincts where Black Americans are the majority voter, then this does not show racism.

It would need to be because they are precincts where Black Americans are the majority voter.

Can't stand people who insert race into everything.

They love democracy as long as it serves their interests which is why  according to them the results of the election were tainted and should be redone, except on their election that was just fine .

They are many things but they are not stupid, you don't get to that level of play by being stupid. They know that these machinations have no chance of success , what they are doing is setting up for 4 years of abstraction  with the excuse that Biden's presidency is illegitimate.  They care nothing about the country, like trump. they are also sociopaths and only care about themselves and their power.

if it does , you need to check your hearing.

No one contested trump's election, Hillary Clinton called trump  and congratulated him on his win immediately, so did every other democratic politician. No one contested the electoral college results. If there were investigations, it was because there was evidence requiring investigation.

First it helps to consider that trump lost the popular vote, in 2016, where Biden won both the Popular vote and the electoral college by a large margin. so of course democrats and others would complain about the electoral college, can you imagine the acrimony from trump if he had won the popular vote but lost the electoral college?     .

If you read the article you will see that it says "could" not did. There was no challenge during the congressional certification,  . And even though trump won many states with the same or lower margin that Biden did ,  there were no challenges in these states as trump did.

No equivalency there, not even close.

The coronavirus death toll in the United States surpassed 350,000 early Sunday, as experts anticipate another surge in cases and fatalities stemming from Christmas and New Year’s holiday gatherings.

and the response from our great leader?

The number of cases and deaths of the China Virus is far exaggerated in the United States because of@CDCgov’s ridiculous method of determination compared to other countries, many of whom report, purposely, very inaccurately and low. “When in doubt, call it Covid.” Fake News!

I’m looking forward to what deranged minds will offer as Trump’s path to the WH after January 6.

I expect a few hours silence while someone dreams up something stupid, then a full-on blast of ‘on message’ repetitions of what has been ‘passed’ down.

I am sure the Mothership will give orders to gather for The Mother Of All Super Spreader Events at a location of Trump's choosing on January 20th so Dear Ex-President (Thank God) can say more people showed up for his bellowing of how he was robbed and that he is running in 2024. The EX-POTUS will throw out some total hot garbage about how more of the unmasked and unwashed  showed up to his Covidpalooza 2021 than for the Biden inauguration (you know, the event that is socially responsible, limits large gatherings, promotes social distancing, follows science and common sense and does not put anybody in the maxed out ICU ).

Just think of what Trump could have done if he had focused his efforts for the past 6 weeks on getting the vaccines distributed at "WARP SPEED" and actually being a leader instead of this BS of it all being about the pathetic petty child we all know who he is and whom he has proven himself to be...wasting the justice systems time and resources; playing golf while the country suffers. Worst president ever....a selfish narcissist that has tapped into the truly weak minded of America to follow him blindly in this farce while the politically motivated and power hungry of the GOP that have zero integrity do his bidding in an attempt to position themselves on the hierarchy of the right.

The only good things out of all this is Joe Biden will be president instead of Donald Trump and on January 21st the State Of New York has an argument to make about somebody's taxes.

My friend’s uncle keeps telling the police that foreign spies kidnapped his (dead) wife and are now looking for him, but we simply ignore him. With all due respect for their conditions, it’s just not feasible to listen to all the doodoo and gaga of the cranks and nutjobs in this world just because there aren’t enough nurses and doctors to properly take care of them.

Maybe making desinformation and hoax illegal could help in the long run, but it won’t get rescue the current bunch from their video game parallel reality. Consider them lost souls.

So many stupid comments on thread about Senator Cruz.  He is no idiot and he is a cunning calculated man of intellectual superiority. And common to such people he has the fault of hubris and arrogance. It will be his downfall, but only he can bring his downfall about. He has read his voter base and he understands the American mentality. He is giving the people what they want. Is that not democracy?

- The man left USA when he was 4 years old. His parents were educated  oil industry  professionals. The people on here who make comment to deport to his "home country" or make joke of father origin in Cuba

are no better than the people they criticize because they attack him for being  immigrant and somehow less "American" than others. Disgusting.

- He graduated cum laude from Princeton. You don't do that unless intelligent and a hard workler.

- He won many academic and extracurricular awards for his  abilities.

- He graduated from harvard law school with  top grades and was described by professors as brilliant and was given an academic fellowship, which is reserved only  for the USA's top scholars.

- He was selected to serve as clerk for two of the USA's top judges. One of them was the  Chief Justice of US Supreme Court. You don't get that job unless you are the best of the best.

The man is intellectually above his critics. Some do not agree with his views but he is as passionate about them as others are of their own views. Because we do not agree, does not make him wrong.

I see him as an evil genius, misguided and driven because of his superiority over others, but having had to endure the idiotic comments about being immigrant  or not wealthy as a kid and of coming from a broken home. perhaps with love and understanding he will change. It worked for Luke when he met his father Darth Vader.
