INN reported that 470 new cases of Covid-19 were identified in the hotspot of Samut Sakhon province south west of the capital of Bangkok yesterday.

Of these 74 were Thais and 396 migrant workers.

Meanwhile Dr Sathit Pitutecha, attached to the ministry of public health, and his team paid an inspection visit to a field hospital in Mahachai where infected people are being isolated and treated.

He expressed concern for the situation but promised that everyone was doing their best for migrants as well as Thais and that the rest of the population was being protected.

Deputy governor Surasak Phonyangsong met the ministerial envoy and said that 200 more cases were moved to the field hospital.

Due to the cold snap in Thailand at the moment medical facilities were short of blankets so he said interested parties could donate those.

The total number of cases in Samut Sakhon is now 2,871.

In the only Photos that I have seen published, there seems to be no kind of Isolation what so ever in these Field Hospitals.

They appear to just be rows of beds for people to lie on.

If that is the case only one infected Patient could infect the whole Field Hospital, and would just keep getting infected in an never ending cycle, where somebody recovering on day 13 passes the virus to a Day 12  patient, that was previously clear.

Do these people have any idea at all.

It's time to stop the highlighting the difference between Thais and others, We are all in this together !

Not forgetting it was corrupt THAI officials causing most of this.

Its time to forget millennial ideologies and maintain an understanding and explanation of the demographics of the disease. We saw the tragedy that unfolded in the UK when for purposes of liberal sensitivity certain communities associated with a serious problem were not identified.

Agree with you in principal and the discrimination here is crazy, however its important to note the categories as the Myanmar and Khmer workers tend to keep to themselves in tight knit groups and so spread in those groups.  Its important to understand how many people circulating widely in the general community have covid as it is also important to know how many covid infections are in quarantine facilities.
