Black Panther 2 will naturally be different to how fans may have previously envisioned it following the sad death of star Chadwick Boseman from colon cancer in August 2020.

Now it's not possible to have a new performance from Boseman, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has reiterated his previous statements that the sequel won't feature a digital version of the actor or a different actor playing T'Challa.

Innovative technology has enabled filmmakers to increasingly feature 'performances' by actors who have now passed away, with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story employing this technology to feature versions of Grand Moff Tarkin and Leia Organa, originally played by Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher respectively.

But there will be no such digital representation of T'Challa in Black Panther 2, as Feige confirmed to Deadline.
