BANGKOK, Jan 13 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said the government would include green economy in its national agenda to increase income in the agricultural sector and reduce dependence on other countries.

Speaking after chairing a meeting of the Bio-Circular-Green Economy Committee, Gen Prayut said that the government would make the bio-circular-green economy (BCG Model) a part of its national agenda so that the agricultural sector would play important roles in developing Thailand to be a high-income nation and improving people’s quality of life.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha

The strategy for national development under the BCG Model – bio-economy, circular economy and Green economy – was approved by the BCG committee on Wednesday.

The five-year strategy will begin this year.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, who chaired the committee meeting, said the BCG Model will be included in the national development agenda.

The model seeks to capitalise on Thailand's abundant agricultural products and vast farming zones. It covers the farm, food, health, medical, energy, biochemical and tourism sectors, which account for half of the country's total employment.

Don’t bother clicking the link, it is exactly the same text with nothing extra !

Would be nice to understand the substance and key policies of this strategy.

Does the Green economy involve stopping crop burning? Burning of rubbish on quiet sois?  Broiling of Kerosene Chickens on busy sois? Convoys of slow-moving speaker vans burning diesel & holding up others?

Good riddance, less rice fields for them to burn. ????
