Last night I was at a dinner at a friends house.

it was mostly couples, and a few single thai guys.

Everyone at the dinner was Thai except myself.

As the night grew on and the drinks got slung back , the topic of 'mia nois' came up.

 

It turns out that every single Thai guy at that table who was either in a relationship or was married had 'a bit on the side.'

Some had more than a bit on the side 

and some were just downright greedy... ???? 

 

My wife then looked at me and said 'you dont, do you love?'

to which I replied 'of course not darling', but in a very sarcastic way.

 

I suppose what I want to know is if you are married, do you ever play away from home?

Considering the numbers last night and the open admitting in front of their wives, I would say that it is very common in Thailand for the man to fill his boots whenever he gets the chance.

And none of their wives seemed to give a monkeys.

To my mind, if the other person involved says its OK then more power to them I say..

and as for the demographic of the people at the dinner, all of them were well educated with good jobs and good social circles. 

 

What are your thoughts? ????

had a Thai taxi driver one time - he told an amusing story:

 

He had previously had a very profitable business and was sort of run out of it... he has a taxi now and drives when he feels like it, goes out into the forest temples much of the time, maintains a peaceful life... he was 50.

 

His wife told him to find a mia noy as it would motivate him to work again and the 2 wives would split the $ 50/50... 

 

Thai ladies can be practical that way...

I think there is a big difference with what Thai guys do and what many farangs do.

 

As far as I know for many Thai guys having a mia noi is a status symbol. He wants to be seen with his mia noi and he spends money so that the mia noi has i.e. a nice car, apartment, etc. And if he can afford more than one than probably he will have more than one. Sex seems to be not the most important part of those relations to mia nois.

It seems mostly the wife knows. I have no insight about what they think about this.

 

Many farang guys play around. And it does not really matter if they have farang or Thai girlfriends or wives. They do it because they want to have sex with sexy girls. And maybe other sex than with their wives. With a Nana girl you direct your own porn movie - even if you don't make a movie.

Maybe farangs tell their good male friends about their encounters but most definitely don't tell their wives.

I think there are very few guy who want to be seen in public with their sexy girls - because the wife may find out...
