LONDON (Reuters) - The sorrow of Britain's COVID-19 death toll, which passed 100,000 on Tuesday, was hard to compute, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.

More than 100,000 Britons have died within 28 days of a positive COVID-19 test, official data showed on Tuesday. In an address from Downing Street, Prime Minister Boris Johnson discussed the heartbreak of the grim statistic.

"It's hard to compute the sorrow contained in that grim statistic, the years of life lost, the family gatherings not attended, and for so many relatives the missed chance, even to say goodbye," he told a news conference.

When all this is over the recriminations and legal suits against all the governments of the world, care homes, hospitals, employers, tenants, travel companies, universities, etc  will fill the courts to 2050 !

Major mistakes have been made almost all with hindsight Boris has delivered on vaccine and funding so far but the poor will end up paying for it as usual .

The real accountability should end up on Xi's doormat watch 54 days aired on BBC2 last night for the timeline of how this tyrant destroyed the world  ????

.

It's Boris's fault for not advising passed UK govt's to tell China to keep places hygienic. TV members here need to blame someone.

What about the Black Plague being found again in China in 2020, it's Boris's fault. ????

Election time?

I fear not and no chance of him doing the decent thing and stepping down.  But if he did, who would step up?  The Tories desperately need some new blood, somebody with some backbone and integrity rather than the gang of inadequates we have now.

So you want Boris to put the army on the streets, flogging the human rats that are ignoring the warnings that are killing the vulnerable...?

Unless you are going to enlighten us with your fix, well, go for it, I am all ears.......:welcomeani:...............

Here's some of your fruitcakes....

Simple really, dont make it an option for those rats, as you call them.

He failed.

What an idiot and how insulting to people who have lost loved ones to this virus.

It's basically his fault that the virus is so out of control in the UK, through his lack of action at the beginning to his stupid policies of messed up on and off lockdowns and lax rules to prevent the spread.

And don't forget the no work - no money gig economy. How many people have ignored symptoms simply because they have bills to pay?

So your explanation for criticism of Johnson’s appalling performance re COVID-19 is to abuse the media of being ‘remainers’.

Obsessed or what?

Er yah. Do you honestly think that Boris is the Devil Incarnate himself, why don't we get any balance, everything is down to Boris no matter how badly others do. But I'm sure it must help a lot of remainers to relieve their stress by having someone like Boris as their whipping boy, keep lashing Chomper if it helps you.

To your credit Vogie, we can always rely on you to defend your boy Boris.  And usually find a way to bring up "remainers" as part of your post.  But you are scraping the barrel a bit now, even Boris has apologised and admitted "they" got it wrong over their handling of Covid.

I am not here to defend anyone, I am asking if other leaders have/are doing worse, why are they never mentioned, come on DR surely it must seem a bit lob sided even to the hardest of people.

Just like Sweden was a wow dealing with the virus, now what's happened in Sweden, even the King there has had a pop at their team.

People will dig around to try and find where progress has been made just to slag off others, whatever the subject.....????
