Repatriation Flight from Thailand to Australia

Featured Replies

Hello all & thanks again

Just a bit of home work

Would the Thai mother of a Citizen on a Repat flight be able to travel with them

IE: Child being escorted & to come & visit family

The obvious answer would be yes, but I suspect your question is somewhat incomplete.

You mean, can Mum (Thai) travel with her child from Thailand to the country of the Childs dual nationality?

Which country / Which airline ????? - the question needs to be more specific.

IF its a repatriation flight, it's a flight organised by an Embassy on which seats are allocated, in which case, you have to ask the specific Embassy in question.

IF it is not a specific repatriation flight and is a regular scheduled flight, then the requirements for entry into the country are ‘country specific’.

You haven’t provided any of the necessary information for anyone to help you.

You need to get your own head out of the sand first...

How are you going to get advice if you can’t provide information in your question.

Repatriation flight from where to where ?

Aus to Thailand, or Thailand to Australia ???

---------

Having to guess: IF its a Thai Embassy organised repatriation flight from Australia to Thailand, then both your son and your Wife are Thai Citizens and they would be allowed to travel and quarantine together in State Quarantine.

Thailand to Auss

In that case you may need to confirm with the Australian Embassy in Bangkok if a Thai National can enter Australia at the moment as immediate family of an Australian citizen.

https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/immediate-family-australian-citizens-or-permanent-residents-or-new-zealand-citizens-usually-resident-australia

As immediate family of an Australian citizen the Childs Thai Mother should be permitted entry to Australia.

The Childs Thai mother will of course have to apply for a Visa.

So... To answer your question: Yes - it's possible that a Thai Mother of an Australian / Thai child can accompany that child on a flight to Australia.

The obvious next steps are to contact the Australian Embassy in Bangkok.

Thanks & as you mentioned only the embassy can confirm if she can be by his side on a Repat flight

Yes she can but she needs a "compelling" reason to visit Australia.

Will probably be easier for the child to come to Thai.

Both in Thailand & would apply for Exemption as Immediate Family (wife/mother) who are allowed to come, but checking if she could be by his side on an Expat flight since Son is Auss Citizen
