Hopefully these lawyers will shoot for a long trial where they can present whatever evidence of voter fraud they have.  The establishment Republicans are shooting for a quick "Not Guilty."  Let's get this out in the open once and for all. Funny, if the Dems really believed there was no voter fraud, they would relish Trump presenting such a defense.

People are claiming Trump incited a riot by presenting so called baseless claims of voter fraud in his speech where he asked people to peacefully protest.  Why not give him the chance to prove his claims were not baseless?  We know why not.

  • I’m impressed. Not being able to find a lawyer willing to lie for you is quite an achievement.

Even most GOP politicians should know he is guilty. Does that mean they will vote to impeach him in the senate? Unfortunately no. It seems most GOP senators are spineless creatures who ignore the

  • Trump's delusional.  The lawyers aren't.  This should be interesting.   And yes, it's been proven it's constitutional to impeach him after he leaves office.  One reason?  If not, presidents

Unless the former President is being charged with voter fraud, it's not relevant to a hearing on incitement.

Why that? If they have evidence, they just need to file a complaint about voter fraud, provide enough evidence to get the complaint accepted , get witnesses to testify under oath, etc...

No need to pollute an impeachment trial with other issues.

Are you claiming he didn't have the chance to proof his claim of voter fraud? How many court cases have there been about that?

Is Trump being tried of falsely claiming there has been voter fraud? Maybe you can read the accusation again?

Interesting to note there were at least 50 (probably more than 60 cases) and Trump's team won I think only 1 time (of limited importance) in the courts (with judges that varied from GOP appointed [some federalist judges - same as the last three supreme court appointments] and Democratic appointed)....  And when the lawyers went into court they would not use the same calls of 'fraud' (which was typically never used in court - for reasons the lawyers felt fine saying it in public but did not want to be held accountable for actually pleading something they felt they could not prove).

President Trump now has a free option. Since the Rand Paul point of order was voted on, there is now no way President Trump can be convicted. He can put on any defense he wants and he will be found not guilty.

Kudos to Rand Paul for boxing in the Republicans.
