Three Cambodian women rescued from traffickers in Vietnam

Three Cambodian women have been rescued from human traffickers in Vietnam, according to a press release from the Cambodian Embassy there on Saturday. The women aged 17, 30, and 31 come from Battambang,Kampong Cham and Tbong Khmum provinces, according to the press release.

 

They were rescued by Vietnamese authorities in Cao Bang province, 370 kilometres from Hanoi and close to China, on January 22 after being stopped on a train with no documents on their way to be trafficked to China, it added.

 

The Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam said after they were quarantined, officials sent them by train to Hanoi on Saturday and they are due to arrive in  Ho Chi Minh city today. The Cambodian consular there will help them return home to Cambodia via Bavet International border checkpoint.
