77kaoded reported that the Koh Samui tourism promotion association along with Chaweng beachside hotels had appealed to the Surat Thani authorities for justice after a decision by the ombudsman.

Some 94 hotels were all supposed to have received licences to operate within 30 days of the decision last November but only 42 had been granted permission.

Now a further review has decided that the remaining 52 hotels will be illegally allowed to operate.

Many had been waiting five years for the decision.

Being illegal meant they were unable to engage in promotions through agents and take part in projects like government stimulus schemes.

The way is now open for them all to operate legally.

What's this ,Illegally Allowed to operate? It's Legal to operate or it's Illegal and they will be closed.

Sorry this is Los , Anything goes. The same as Lying , just a different way to tell the Truth.   ????

We had to wait about 14 months to get our licence. The bods in City Hall told us it would be quicker if we filled a brown envelope, but i don't pay any corruption money to anyone any more after a nasty experience with immigration police years back

Why not a bit of xenophobia based on some badly worded text., par for the course on here.

If the hotels have been granted a licence why would they be any different?

From the OP if you had bothered to read.

However, at the latest on the same day The Committee for the Screening of the Hotel Business License Has considered approving the remaining hotel licenses, including those found that have been surveyed for a total of 52 places, after which Surat Thani Provincial Government Office as the secretary will consider presenting the provincial governor to sign the license.
