25 Cambodians, including two children, have been repatriated from Malaysia after  being trafficked there for illegal work.

Lieutenant General Chiv Phally, chief of the Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Department in the Ministry of Interior, said yesterday that with the intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cambodian Embassy in Malaysia, 23 Cambodians and two children who were trafficked to work illegally in Malaysia were rescued and repatriated on Saturday.

Lt Gen Phally said they arrived at the Phnom Penh International Airport via a Singapore Airlines flight on Saturday evening. He said the Cambodian Embassy in Malaysia facilitated the documents being sent to the General Department of Immigration of Malaysia for a COVID-19 test, as well as sent them to Kuala Lumpur International Airport for their repatriation.
