Compound W for wart removal

Featured Replies

Years ago in the UK I used a liquid to remove a wart. I remember it was called Compound W.

Is it - or something similar - available in Thailand?

If what you want is equivalent to Compound W wart liquid (not the Compound W cryo removal),  Lazada has it

They also have a less expensive local brand called Collomak, same ingrediant but less strong (10% vs 17% in Compound W)

Thanks Sheryl.

I had no idea there were different types of the product?

Yes, it's to remove a wart on the knuckle of my hand.

If that's the case, what corn remover can you  recommend in Thailand, never having had a corn?

The Compound W in US (don;t know about UK) comes in 2 types: a salicyclic acid liquid and liquid nitrogen applicators. You can't AFAIK get liquid nitrogen OTC here and in any case if salicyclic acid will work, it is preferrable as the liquid nitrogen can burn the surrounding skin and sometimes leaves a slight scar or discoloration.

Al the corn and wart removers here generally contain salicyclic acid but strengths can wary. Compoud W is the strongest.

This is what a doctor recommended for me.  Put a thin layer of Vaseline on the area surrounding the area to be treated as to not eat away the non affected skin. Worked great.

Most pharmacies have it.  It’s cheap.

Elsewhere there are also fluorouracil based ones. I used one once, despite the doc advising me to get a much more expensive liquid nitrogen treatment, and it worked fine.
