10 Groups of People Are Prohibited from Receiving Sinovac Vaccine

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has received 66,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine allotted by the government and had started inoculating the target groups since Monday.

 

Deputy Bangkok governor Sophon Phisutthiwong said medical professionals will be the first group to receive the vaccine. The second group will be public health volunteers, and the last target group would be those who have chronic diseases.

 

He said however, there are 10 groups of people who are prohibited from receiving the Sinovac vaccine, including those under 18 years old and over 60 years, pregnant women, those who have uncontrollable symptoms, those who are suffering from brain or nervous diseases, those who have immune deficiency, those who have bleeding disorder or are under anticoagulation treatment, and those who show symptoms of fever.

Pure nonsense. Sinovac has not yet passed phase three of the clinical trials in Thailand.

Only people in excellent health who will not have big problems if they have Covid, therefore no use

Recommendations on when to use Sinovac:

 

Beneficial in countries with raging outbreaks, such as Brazil, say researchers. “When you’ve got communities that are absolutely desperate, and have no other choice, then this is a really great thing to have,” 

 

So confirmation as if that was needed that Thailand is desperate.

Nothing to do with discrimination but with the fact that this vaccine isn't suitable for people over 60.

How misleading. The final stage of all vaccine production is ongoing safety monitoring. Before that stage they are given emergency use approval by WHO or whichever country individually decides to do so. 

 

The fact that approval is given to a vaccine from China who has refused to publish the full scientific data and skipping such information is the real issue.

Several have completed phase three trials including Pfizer, Moderna, Sputnik V, Astra Zeneca, and J&J. Several others have not fully published the results of phase 3 trials yet, but all vaccines included those in use for decades are still checked for efficacy and safety.

It could be that the sinovac version isn't reported to be effective, or even potentially dangerous.

Isn't that why the PM couldn't take it?
