Scenic posters

Featured Replies

So many beautiful oil painting shops but I am not comfortable hanging weighted objects on my walls. Can anyone recommend a nice shop for posters? Themes I like include: scenery, temples, buddha, and general beauty.

Obviously I cant speak to your specific location, but there are many photo studio shops that will create a poster, just give them the digital image and they can print it as big as you like, some offer framing or other methods of displaying/ hanging too.

Look in your area for these "photo shops" they also typically do graduation type photos etc go and enquire there is my suggestion.

There is (or was) one where the big market is held on Soi Bukhao.

If you are coming from Pattaya Tai (by Tukcom) and take the first lane on the right (at the start of the market area), the shop was on the right side (the permanent buildings). No idea if it's still there though. May only be open on market days (or afternoons).

Note that because of the paint they use on the cement walls here, "taping" a poster to a wall won't work here. The paint ages quickly and the adhesive on the tape will absorb the "powder" and pull away from the wall. (Quickly).
I've even tried wiping and washing the wall area first, then putting tape on it (after it dried). After doing that 3-4 times, the tape might stick.

Now I usually just get a cheap frame, drill a hole in the wall, insert the plastic gizmo and screw, then hang the frame. Works for posters and the big pics.
(For a really big painting you'd probably want to use 2 large screws.)

(And no, that's not a real gecko above the light switch.)

Needless effort and expense. Cool people in Rome do as the Romans do. Just stick the posters on with double-sided foam tape. Sorted.

Yup. But after the paint's pulled off already, it's gone, so then you stick new tape over the bare spot and add a few more strips for good measure. :)
