Is this scheme still running does anyone know?

There was an article that stated due to the "massive amount of fraud" the government had decided not to continue the scheme after April 30th.

At the moment there appear to be 0 application spots available, but as they find more people who have cheated they are removed and their spot becomes available again.

 

Of course it's Thailand so anything could change in the meantime.

We used the scheme often and the TGF tells me they will be releasing a further 2 million rooms after the "fraudulent businesses" have been weeded out....that might take forever mind you....????

We were about to book but waited until the 3 days in case anything changed. Bit of a blow when the remaining availability was suddenly reduced to zero the day before.

My wife says the new allocation will be made by the end of March, hopefully with an extension as not much time left.

Hotel bookings...not sure about flights.

New deals effective May 01-August 31 but now has to be booked through an 'agency' but fine details may not be in place yet.

I do not know what you mean by tour packages. The "We Travel Together" scheme gave everyone an allocation of so many nights which could get you a booking at any hotel registered in the scheme at a 40% discount. With each nights booking you also got a voucher which got you 40% off food and some other things. If you fly to your destination you can also claim 40% discount on the flight up to a certain amount.

We flew down to Krabbi and got the full 40% but if the flight is over 3000 baht?, you only get the 40% on the 3000 each way.
