Generic Finasteride/Propecia in Thailand - what are the options?

Hi all, I was reading about Finasteride/Propecia to prevent hair loss - it's a prescription drug, is it available in Thailand? Are there any generic brands? What are the costs? Thanks

Available over the counter. Some shops may require a prescription. 5mg Finasteride maybe 50 baht each. If you're using it for your hair, get a quality pill cutter and cut each 5mg pill into 6 or 8 pieces.

Over the counter here and about 1200 for 30 pills of 5mg.

Cant comment on use for hair loss. Only read that 1 mg is suggested(?).

I stopped using if for my purpose (5 mg).

Can hopefully live without it for years to come.

DO NOT get the 5mg tabklets, that is for people with prostate problems.

 

You want 1 mg dosage.

 

Locally made brands are:

 

Firide (comes in both 1mg and 5 mg, get the 1 mg)

Harifin-1

 

I don't know the costs but should be not expensive (whereas propecia, also available here, would be costly due ot being imported)

I pay 500bht for 30 x 5mg tablets (Prosteride) from an online shop.

"Firide" at Fascino costs about 400 for the 1mg version and 500 for the 5mg version, no prescription required.
