The problem being that those Thai's that have not been tested and then board a plane back to Thailand can easily pass on the virus to other passengers in the enclosed confines of the aircraft. 8

The other passengers go through the same quarantine, again no problem. Also, testing cannot stop infected foreigners from boarding a plane. As often explained, if you are exposed within 6 days of boarding, the test may be negative (fail to detect the virus). Testing foreigners is more a courtesy. Quarantine is what prevents the virus entering Thailand. Edited April 4, 2021 by rabas 1 1

Thats not courtesy thats the rule. If you think its ok to mix negative tested people with those who have come from a high pandemic region without a test and to mix in the same aircraft then you are deluded. Quarantine is irrelevant if you've contracted the virus on the plane and then end up seriously ill in hospital as a result. Yes quarantine regardless of test or not is usefull, mixing negative and potentially positive is not if you are trying to keep all people safe. If you're going to try and debate that then go ahead.

No tests abroad, no insurance, no fit to fly. Bring them in and straight into quarantine. There are 2 primary reasons why Thais can return without testing. Firstly it is not always possible for them to get tested in the country they are flying from unless they display symptoms. (much the same as Thailand in fact) Secondly they have a right to return to their home country, test or no test. Regarding foreigners coming to Thailand, the country is applying much the same entry rules as just about every other country in the world is right now. 3

Your first point, thats a problem faced by all nationalities not just Thai's Second point. Why do Thai's have the right to come back to Thailand without a test first? Thats not the case in England, UK citizens and international citizens must all show a covid negative test before returning. 2
Popular Post RichardColeman
Oh, just open the planet to the vaccinated and get on with it, it's just silly now. It's projected that the world's population will grow about 97 million this year. If an extra 3 million die of covid the planet will show no real hiccup in the long run population explosion. Yet millions are now unemployed, with potentially no future. The cure is out of proportion to the disease. 5

Guderian
And in a week the Songkran holiday will begin, with many workers in Bangkok returning to their villages as well as many Bangkokians wanting a break at the beach in Pattaya or Hua Hin. The big question is, why is the government so remiss when it comes to Bangkok and travel restrictions? The way this is going, we won't have to wait for the vaccinated foreign tourists to arrive and start spreading the virus at an alarming rate, Songkran will already have done that. Though the foreigners will, no doubt, add some interesting new variations to the virus menu here in Thailand, lol. 1

You mean Covid has wiped out (killed) more that twice the total global traffic deaths, so far? And left countless millions with permanent or long term damage because it can attack almost every part of the body, unlike other viruses? And new mutant waves continue as cases again rise rapidly in spring time, when they absolutely shouldn't? Never mind that COVID is now mixing with MERS in Saudi hospitals (reported last week) Obviously, you should stop driving. An attitude that isn't conducive to a civilised society. The problem with your argument is that there would never be an end to covid and world lockdowns as covid consistently evolves and creates variants. We get flu shots every year for flu variants. About 608,000 people in the world died of flu last year - we did not shut the planet. It's not a question of me me me, it's a question of reality vs covid, living with it or hiding from it. As for the 'Originated in US' comment, if you're suggesting the covid is US in creation I'd like hard evidence of that accusation 4

Rose to prominence due to trump's support and encouragement. Vast differences between Covid and the flu. No doubt annual boosters will be requiresd to take in to account variants. I doubt that you will take your annual booster though.
