The largest airline in Israel is preparing to operate direct flights to Phuket in Thailand , the only destination where it will be possible to land and spend an entire week without the need for isolation. Immediately after the week that the Israelis will spend in Phuket, they will be able to continue to all of Thailand.

This is the first time in many years that direct flights have been operated between Israel and Phuket and El Al is the first company to take up the gauntlet and is expected to operate these flights. The flights will be operated on the company's Dreamliner aircraft...

Vaccinated Israelis can travel to Thailand starting July 1

Following a decision last week by Thai authorities to allow vaccinated tourists to visit the island Phuket starting July 1, Thailand's tourism board in Israel has decided to open the entire country to vaccinated tourist from Israel with nearly no restrictions, also starting July 1.

Not sure this is correct.

International terminal at HKT closed for ages, just re-opened 3 April.

There was one single promotional flight BKK-HKT back in January.

QR's summer schedule to be uploaded today. or tomorrow, with QR 841 DOH-HKT returning  1 July, not sure on frequency, expecting 3x or 4x weekly.

Perhaps part of the ongoing experiment for the Pfizer vaccine. In order to gain access to vaccine, israel agreed to share health data on vaccine efficacy and adverse reactions. Maybe they will use Israelis to see if the vaccine does give protection when the vaccinated are exposed to infected people.

My feeling is that these israeli visitors if not  required to isolate when they return to israel will be bringing back infectious variant. We will probably see lots of sick Israelis if they are allowed to go to a country where  pandemic is about to explode.  Israel should  follow example of Australia and keep travel on hold.

I think the story about gaining access to vaccine because they agreed to share health data is a lot of malarkey. Do you mean to tell me that other countries had the option to be fully vaccinated but bulked at the fact that they might have to share health data?

"No NO NO, we rather die and have our economies destroyed before we share our health data with you" LOL

as far as the danger of vaccinated people getting the viruses, I was just reading   a study :

"99.992% of fully vaccinated people have dodged COVID, CDC data shows "

https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/04/99-992-of-fully-vaccinated-people-have-dodged-covid-cdc-data-shows/

" Cases of COVID-19 are extremely rare among people who are fully vaccinated, according to a new data analysis by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Among more than 75 million fully vaccinated people in the US, just around 5,800 people reported a “breakthrough” infection, in which they became infected with the pandemic coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated.

The numbers suggest that breakthroughs occur at the teeny rate of less than 0.008 percent of fully vaccinated people—and that over 99.992 percent of those vaccinated have not contracted a SARS-CoV-2 infection."

So crunching the numbers , If every Israeli (men ,woman and child ) went to Thailand (8 million) and was exposed to the variants as people in the US were, (more variants in the US than Thailand) Then they should expect  618 infections, which should be no problem when they returned to Israel since every other Israeli would be in Thailand anyway.  LOL
