Chonburi orders all entertainment venues to close

The Communicable Disease Committee of Thailand’s Chonburi province has ordered all entertainment venues to close from tomorrow (Saturday), including cinemas and theatres, to control the spread of COVID-19.

Health Min confirms private COVID-19 vaccines imports are allowed

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Public Health has reiterated it is not blocking private organizations from importing COVID-19 vaccines, pointing out it has already registered three for the process and is considering a fourth.

Another 87 new COVID-19 cases, most linked to a pub in the resort town of Hua Hin, were recorded Friday in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Bangkok’s hospitals have sufficient COVID-19 test kits

Bangkok’s hospitals still have enough COVID-19 test supplies, but they have had to suspend testing due to a shortage of hospital beds, according to the Director-General of the Department of Medical Sciences, Dr. Suppakit Sirilak.

Ad hoc panel to procure vaccines with private sector participation

Thailand’s former public health minister, Clin.Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn has been appointed head of an ad hoc panel to procure alternative brands of COVID-19 vaccines for the Thai people, besides AstraZeneca and Sinovac, after the CCSA has agreed to allow the private sector to participate in the procurement of an additional 10 million doses.
