Phang Nga Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada issued the order yesterday (Apr 14). The order will come into effect from this Saturday (Apr 17). Photo: PR Phang Nga

PHUKET:-- All people travelling from Phuket to Phang Nga from this Saturday (Apr 17) will be required to report themselves to a local hospital or the local municipality for where they are staying after arriving in the province.

If the new arrivals to Phang Nga are deemed to have engaged in any risk activities that might have exposed them to being infected with COVID-19, they may face 14 days quarantine.

The requirements follow an order issued by Phang Nga Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada, who years ago served as Governor of Phuket, issuing a provincial order yesterday (Apr 14).

sucks if we want to drive off the island

Still only a handful of cases during the whole year in Phangnga. One Englishman in Kao Lak last year and a mother and her kid on Koh Yao (from Krabi).

And 4 new cases this week.

Our governor made all the fishermen get tested last outbreak (the seafood industry) and told the Burmese at construction sites they will be closed down if they don’t obey the rules. He has been in constant contact with Poo Yai Baans ensuring they keep their people following the rules, and the people have complied. They door knocked every house early on when there was a mask shortage and handed out free masks.

And now this.

Not a single death.

This is the same idiot who announced a lockdown last year in Phang Nga and wanted to be the first and famous , I think a few months ago when there was the first outbreak in Samut, but everybody ignored him and didn't follow and he quietly shut up about it, ex-Phuket-kicked-out-refugee....!

Just read the measure again, introduce yourself to some office/hospital somewhere and say if you are high risk...!?!?!? If you not , go about your business.... no problem...????????????

What a time-wasting stupid thing to do, does he really think anybody will go and voluntarily say lock me up for 14 days....!!!! How does this make any sense...???

What happened to brains when they were distributing it..., must have missed a few....????

This is just wanna be famous bull from that province, if you read the order I don't think it applies to people driving through, probably means for someone who wants to reside in the province, and just a time wasting exercise for them to go and sign a form and go free...

If had balls would put a proper lockdown and proper 14 day quarantine for all without asking "would you like to..." first, but then would get kicked out of there too..., what a loser...!

It's totally vague, impractical and useless, one of those typical Thai orders that could mean anything and can be implemented anyway they like...

His actions are showing much better results than Boris Johnson, Donald or Biden, European, Middle East and SouthAmerican “leaders”.

Not a single death. Can’t do much better than that.
