Hundreds waited at a Bangkok stadium to get free Covid-19 tests Saturday as a spiraling infection rate gripped Thailand, on a fourth consecutive day of more than 1,000 new cases.

All nightspots in Bangkok to remain closed for another 14 days

All entertainment outlets in Bangkok, including pubs, karaoke bars and massage parlours, which have already been closed for more than a week, will remain closed for at least the next fortnight, Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang said today after chairing a meeting of Bangkok communicable disease committee.

Deputy Prime Minister promises more economic stimuli as country copes with COVID-19

BANGKOK (NNT) - Hopes of restarting the tourism sector might need to be pushed back again as new cases of COVID-19 reach a record high. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy said today that this new wave might bring Thailand’s 2021 GDP down from its 4% target, while stressing the government will be introducing more economic stimuli.

The Week That Was in Thailand News: Fake News! There are no tourists in the Hub of Waves!

It was a week where, not for the first time, the Thai government seemed to be just a little out of step with reality. Just a tad short of the number of sandwiches to make a picnic or to be culturally fairer to them, one chili shy of a decent som tam.

PHUKET: Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has a true dilemma on his hands: push back the deadline for reopening Phuket to vaccinated international tourists to arrive on the island from July 1, or let it stand despite the current climate of fear over the latest COVID-19 outbreak.

Thailand’s vaccine shopping list as COVID surges

As the number of new COVID-19 cases surges this month, the government is rushing to find more vaccines for Thais. On Friday (April 16), Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha took it upon himself to list the various vaccine brands Thailand is currently trying to procure.

Myanmar junta chief to attend ASEAN summit in first foreign trip since coup

(Reuters) -Myanmar junta chief Min Aung Hlaing will attend an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit in Indonesia on April 24, Thailand said on Saturday, for his first known foreign trip since he seized power on Feb. 1.

Many Medical Staff Are Forced into Self-quarantine from Withholding of Information
