webfact
Picture: Sanook Our picture today shows motorcycle taxi guy Banyat, 63, pointing at a hole. Banyat told Sanook that it wasn't there on Saturday. But just half an hour of heavy rain on Sunday afternoon changed all that. He called on the authorities to get their fingers out. Sanook said there were two massive holes in Pahonyothin Road in the area of the Si Mum Muang market in Lam Lukka. The heavy rain with thunder and lightning may have been short in duration but it caused long tailbacks of traffic both inbound and outbound from Bangkok, said the media. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-04-19 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

But, but, the supervisor is high status, therefore must be all respected and criticism is therefore not allowed or accepted. Further, the supervisor has no qualifications for the job nor insight, but he/she is higher status therefore the actual workers do as instructed (knowing the instruction will not fix the problem) because it would be very rude to comment or suggest a course of action. This still applies. The many years I worked as a lecturer in Thai universities it's the same. Many times unqualified/inexperienced hi so folks were appointed (pure nepotism) to higher jobs/lower jobs, but they had no hesitation to speak out/criticize/give orders overriding the dean of the faculty etc. Nobody spoke up, their 'instructions' were followed (I need this job!)
