Distressed Woman Tried Committing Suicide

The Banglamung Police was informed at 1.45 am on 18th May by Banglamung Hospital that a woman had been brought in in a serious condition since she tried committing suicide by drinking insect killing liquid.

When the police arrived they found the woman still being treated. At the hospital the police met the woman’s husband; Mr. Samart Chartchamni aged 31.

He stated that his wife is Mrs. Chanitka Chartchamni aged 28. She works at the Ocean Marina Condo as the maid. They have a one and half year old daughter.

Mr. Samart stated that lately they have been having a lot of financial difficulties and it usually leads to arguments.

He thinks that his wife must have felt upset with something that he said in an argument earlier because at almost midnight he heard his baby cry and got up to find his wife lying in the kitchen with the insecticide bottle so took her to the hospital.

The police recorded statements and are waiting for Mrs. Chanitka to recover before more questioning is made.
