Can anyone help me, I need find out about bus times (cost and location, if possible) from Bangkok to Nong Khai

Is there a depot or website I can look for, that has this information.

Thanks in advance.

Take the free shuttle bus to the Suvarnabhumi Transportation Center and from there you can get a VIP bus that goes to Nong Khai. I don't know the schedule, but recall there is at least one bus in the evening around 8PM I think. Not sure if it goes at other times as well.

If your really stuck for cash and want to budget, get a seat on the Hualomphong, Bangkok train to Nong khai for 257b, lowest class seats are a bargain! 13 hours 'ish and you get to meet lots of interesting characters along the way! :o

BKK---> UdonThani

Air Asia ....

Sun 27 May

1176 baht total ....

Udon is about 45 mins from NongKhai by bus or car .... flight time 1.2 hours or so ....

13 hours bus or train vs. 1.2 hours flight ... a no-brainer for me!

my time and comfort HAS to be worth 100 baht an hour!

You forgot the fact that Air Asia is late more often than they're on-time. Add maybe an hour for being late, plus need to get to the airport at least an hour early. Then need to get to Nong Khai, which will take at least another hour if you get transportation from the airport, but longer if you decide to go by bus. Then if the airline doesn't fly when you want to fly, such as not good timing for a connecting flight you might need to add on even more time. But anyways I'd agree that my time is much more valuable than wasting a lot of time on a train or bus, unless I just wanted the experience. Just wanted to point out that the fast times one sees for a plane flight are often mistakenly compared to bus/train times without factoring in the various add-ons.

LOL ... OK .. the trains are often late .... busses break down ... the guy is flying in to the airport ......

but double it ... my time is worth 200 baht an hour too ... particularly my comfort is!

Ok, I suppose a reply (even a wrong one, :o no names no pack drill) is better than none, but, as it happens, from December 14th to January 14th I will be making 2 return flights BKK to Udon Thani and 1 return flight BKK to Burriram.

So my reasons for the question Bkk To Nong Khai, Need a bus please is for reasons which will remain my own, but I will divulge, it is nothing to do with cost or time (or fear of flying or highjack by terrorists) just my own reasons. (maybe I like looking as the countryside flashes past). :bah:

Btw a friend of mine told me about the train and I think I will give that a big miss. :D

Anyway thanks for all replies, especially the helpful ones :D the others just make me glad we have "care in the community". :D

Thanks

Steve :D
