You gotta move with the times ..........

As for activities, they usually suggest I meet them at a short-time hotel.

We then proceed to partake in an extremely traditional male/female activity.

What's that?

You cut the grass and she's doing her nails?

OP is having issues finding activities to do with the closures.

I missed that or conveniently ignored it.

Well, of course there's nothing to do! In fact he's better off going upcountry for many reasons.

Even food courts are closed down.

I'd think it would be easier to meet people online, but harder to connect in a traditional manner as the OP is having issues finding activities to do with the closures.

yes, this is what my question was. Nothing to do with poor young Issan far, girls and old Falang men etc

I’m early 40’s and she’s late 30’s and we have careers.

I am sorry if i sound a little bit harsh

but if at your age and with your social level

you both don't know what to do when you are together

and you have to ask the user manual to unknow peole on a public forum

well, maybe you shouldn't be together (Anyway it seems you are not really

''together'' living in 2 differents places in normal time)

Thing is, you see, there is a pandemic going on and most things in Bangkok are closed.
hence asking for suggestions on stuff to do....

understand?

Of course there are less things to do with the closures

however what stops you to move from Bangkok?

I mean if you are busy working, you don't have a lot of time

so it shouldn't be a problem to share the little free time you have together and if you don't work or if you can take some holidays (And since she is moving to Bangkok despite having a career in the marketing, it seems you can have some break from the work) i suppose you could have a trip together to another destination in Thailand with less restrictions, since the money isn't a problem for you. A lot of videos on YT from expats actually doing domestic tourism in Thailand with their Thai gf\wife, they don't seem to be bored at all

You limit yourself to BKK like if you was jailed here

there is a lot to see in the vicinity of the big city

maybe it's the moment to go on a discovering trip

No i don't recomand to visit Pattaya now

all the entertainement venues are closed and the whole city is depressing, you can not even walk on the beach without being hunted by the police

Hua Hin could be better for the beach, or Ayuttaya for the ruins or Kanchanaburi if you like the jungle and the historical side

(Erawan park is nice)

Go to the malls if/when they are open. She won't mind walking there and you'll get exercise. Thais love to take photos and malls always build in places for photo opportunities. They have arcade games, movies, bowling, maybe even ice skating. It would also be a good compatibility test. If malls and non-mall stores are closed, go window shopping.

Does she have friends in BKK? Meet with them if she does. Or meet with your friends if you have some.

How were you planning on getting your exercise?

aha i hope not

i was just afraid to take again a beating by the OP

his sense of humor level seems to be near 0 or even under

hence my serious answer

Obviously some people in Pattaya kept their sense of humor, not much choice anyway....That's all that's left..????
