And to make matters worse are the ones who built homes and spent all their money thinking they will have a blissful life in TL only to find themselves busted and broke. It's only 0800 and my balls are already sweaty, yeah love the weather. Evenkeel Yes indeed I am married to a wonderful Thai lady and we have 2 excellent Grandchildren who of course we treat them as our daughters and yes very valid point about fixed income ie the frozen and diabolical State Pension and yes the savings do go down a lot and yes happy and been here since 2008 and like everyone else (unless one has a pot of gold, which I certainly do not have) the last few years been hard. Yes indeed take your point and yes I an probably a few others have no property or even family back in the UK and the trouble is the locals or relatives think you are loaded and they are quite wealthy but at times I am sure they think that you have loads. So going back and even for a holiday and did promise a couple of years ago but if travelling ever comes back in will go to Asean countries. Unfortunately, most spend much more monies than what is coming in and hopefully it will last but have property here which eventually will go down to my family. Yes even and happily married one could not us back to the UK and one has to have 73K savings and at least 18K coming in and no where near this amount So enjoy each day as and when it comes and just do the best for your family. London was expensive, but UGC cinemas had a card that one paid the price of 3 movies for and got unlimited movies for a month, so great deal if one went to lots of movies like I did. Many people have Netflix and big TVs now, no need to go to the cinema. And heaps are just pirating the latest releases, piracy is rampant in Australia. Had a couple of lovely Aussie beef steaks recently from Makro. Great value too at around 128 baht per steak. BUT they are few and far between and you have to grab them when they appear.

I don't think so. Humanity has become far too dependent on the computer/ internet IMO. One only has to look at the hack for ransom on the US pipeline, and in NZ an entire district of a heath board went down because of computer problems. Kids can't even count in their head now. When they need a calculator to work out what change I need when I give a 100 baht note for a 70 baht item, we have problems.

The Australian beef is mostly grass fed.
