Just warn and move them.  Why arrest ?  Thailand a country where minor infringements are a big deal . Mass fraud corruption and theft ..a blind eye. Mai pen rai'

Local police, money.  Wider, for publicity to make a point.

Hmmm.... why are there no police pointing their fingers at the “criminals”. ? Without finger pointing how do we know who the offenders are? Hanging is too good a punishment for this heinous offence

Since entry requirements are not known yet they can't book now. Will probably be in a few weeks time, so embassies/consulates can make sure visa applications are processed according to the rules. Your post just reinforces the post reacted to: "Some people can make the distinction between measures now and entry after JUly 1st."

I was referring to the situation regarding anti-covid measures. If they will remain the same, if anybody still face the  risk of being arrested for a drink with friends. It's certainly not a good advertisement

Plague Island is starting to become a totalitarian state within the state.

They need to relax a bit before holidaymakers are returning.

Don't forget Buri Ram ........................... 100% compliance rules.

Where is a more corona risk outside on a ventilated beach or inside packed up together at a police station holding cell?

Been here 2 months already and it's very relaxing...just follow a few simple and widely posted PANDEMIC control restrictions like large social gatherings in public and consuming alcohol in groups. Is that SO hard? (All you alcoholics...just drink at home.)

Well we saw what happens to those drinking at home in Phuket last week

Pattaya Spotter wasn't suggesting breaking the law as those that you refer to were.  Having a drink at home is permitted.

I won't believe this heinous crime until I see the cardboard "crime" background and multiple finger pointing.

Yes, what's happened to those 'finger pointing' photos?  Is 'finger pointing' against the Covid rules? I miss them ????.

Welcome to Phuket on the 1st of July with only permitted to drink with 2 people together.. and all kind of other rules it will be an overwhelming succes

Throw in the video of the arrogant police officer who raided the family party which apparently they were doing no wrong until the law was hurriedly rewritten the next day.

And yes you will have people coming by the plane load

Do you realize that there are only 6 weeks to 1st of July???

Anyone who thinks the situation will be similar to the present one should start thinking straight.

And perceptions of the Covid situation are unlikely to change much in that time period. In the UK we have had five months of irksome restrictions, and 30 million plus people have been vaccinated, but almost every day some "expert" pops up with a doomsday scenario relating to the latest variant and the dire consequences of relaxing even to the slightest degree. It seems regardless of how the actual numbers change 'project fear' is destined to rule our lives.  Sadly, I doubt that the current proposals for opening up Phuket, or anywhere else in Thailand, for tourism this year are anything but a pipe dream.

Before covid on budda days bars would serve beer in a coffee cup or spirits in a  glass with coke  or soda water. If found  out the bar is fined like  the customer probadly.police knew and turned the other way many times.During these times if outside and spaced out with distance should not be a problem
