Worldwide or what?

Situation in Thailand is dire but the average death toll is about 50 people on bikes killed per day in accidents. Roughly two per hour (every 30 minutes) and most likely concentrated at certain times of day/night.

(50 or maybe 60 who can tell)

What I once read: three times more accidents (overall) during nighttime compared to daytime.

Again: such accidents happen everywhere around the country.

Newsworthy only under the spotlights of Pattaya, Phuket etc.

Thank you for the correction.  I read it somewhere without questioning that the translation/Thai maths might be suspect.

Not a question of 'if', more 'when'. But it isn't as frequent as you might think with a few regular safety habits. No drinking. Helmet. Avoid night-time riding wherever possible. I

My 3rd apology of the morning & I've not had breakfast. I read it somewhere without questioning that the Thai translation/maths may be suspect.

Looks like you won't be short of humble pie for your breakfast.

Hope the truck makes a full recovery.

Well lit road, several lanes, so how could you not see a big truck!! Sad for the family but inattention is something you cant afford on a bike

Whilst I don't like its taste, I am not ashamed to eat it on the few occasions I get it wrong; makes a change from Weetabix!

I avoid using Sukhumvit....

Never jump lights.

Beware everyone else, they are completely stupid.

That's what everyone thinks, right up until it happens to them.

I've  found a lot  of  Thais  have almost zero attention span, can't seem to concentrate  at all.

Wouldn't you want custard on the pie, rather than milk on the Weetabix?
