There a supposed law against taking photos of patients in COVID field hospitals without their explicit permission.

So, the only photos the government typically issues are those showing the field hospital facilities prior to the arrival of patients. Plus they're less messy looking that way.

Fair enough John:

But let's try to access the daily bed-occupancy rates for these field hospitals, as portrayed in the photos and others.

The other day,  I heard them announce those rates on Thai radio but I did not have time to jot down the numbers.

Just off the top of my head, from that announcement a few days ago, the occupancy of the field hospitals in/around Bangkok was 20%  -- but that is a guess, as I was doing the percents in my head as they announced the figures.

Besides, who on this forum would believe the government data on field hospital bed occupancy ?

So, if possible, in the days ahead, could you help us focus on the bed-occupancy rate of the field hospitals -- if you have sources that are better than the average TV member?

I think that would be the most empirical evidence of where the Covid-19 epidemic in Thailand is going.

Thank you for your updates, graphs, and summaries, by the way.

Ministry of Public Health distributes Covid-19 vaccines to thousands of Chinese residents in Thailand, prior to official inoculation of all interested foreign nationals starting from early June

The Ministry of Public Health established a vaccination center at Bangrak Medical Institute to inoculate thousands of shots of Covid-19 vaccines to Chinese residents in Thailand as the first group of foreign nationals to be vaccinated in Thailand.

Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said to the associated Thai press yesterday, May 20th, that the Thai government has a profound relationship with the Chinese government. The People’s Republic of China in Thailand has also coordinated with the Chinese government regarding the Sinovac vaccine trading and funding for emergency use during current major outbreaks in the country.

Today, a Thai government spokeswoman tweeted that Bangok currently has about a 60% occupancy rate for hospital beds... not clear if she meant province only or the broader Bangkok region...  But that's somewhat misleading, especially when they start adding in all the field hospital and hotel-hospital beds (which aren't really hospitals!).

To me, the more meaningful stat would be what's the current bed occupancy rate for ICU beds in Bangkok province and the broader Bangkok region. And they haven't been very clear in coughing up that kind of specific detail lately.

two days in a row of daily increases for Chonburi.  Are they testing more, or are these the uptick from a new cluster located two days ago.  Are they testing widespread for the Indian variant as well, or waiting until it pops up......waiting for the Chonburi Government supporter to fill us in.

The Thai government still showing an uncaring, discriminatory approach to vaccinating for covid. Yes they are now talking about foreigners being able to register next month - let’s see if that changes or not.

“According to announcement from government I need to inform you that we need to cancel all expats in Thailand even you have Social Security for Vaccination Covid-19. Due to the Vaccine is not enough for now, so we will give to Thai citizen first. We apologize for inconvenience.”

The other shoe has dropped and they do not have the vaccines that Prayut has said he obtained.....hmmm, liar liar pants on fire, both you and Anutin.  Stop with the charades and get the country vaccines.  Stop waiting on your AZ vaccine to be produced in house which is another thorn in your plan.  You rested on your laurels and never were as prepared as you told the whole world you were last year as you started to treat the second wave.
