And that is exactly how the elite in Thailand want it!

Both are wanted criminals and probably they will never be able to visit Thailand again - except to go to jail. 

That's the price for too much greed.

The Thai Baht made a 15% nosedive in a year against the Euro from 33bht to 38bht. 

You are probably looking at the dollar which has weakened in the same time frame. 

 

I for one am very pleased with the new situation, it saved me quite a substantial sum with a recent house purchase.

Could not have been better said. 99.9% of the Thais I talk to are so far beyond fed up. And if the 3-5% who drank the kool-aid still believed, after this latest covid debacle, Prayuth, Anutin and the gang have been truly unmasked to a humiliating and inglorious degree.

 

Who could possibly still have any faith in their competence, and sincerity, at this point?

It sure does feel like Thailand has been moving in a backwards direction, since P. wrestled control of the nation from the people. So, you might be right. A very, very sad state of affairs. And what I am referring to, has very little to do with the Covid tragedy. 

 

The only hope is with the youth, and guys like Thanathorn. Long live the Thai youth. May they eventually prevail.

Yes, but It's not like governments before them or after them were not as corrupt or worse, including the current bunch. 

The big difference with the current bunch is that they could be voted out, and also held accountable by yellow courts. The current bunch cannot be voted out and will never be held accountable by yellow courts.
