Does anyone here use WeChat ? (if so, can someone verify me please) ?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to join WeChat but (part of the sign-up) process is asking for someone to scan my QR code (in order to verify me).

I have no idea if this is a new form of verification, but its really annoying because I dont know anyone who uses WeChat yet.

It's a catch 22 situation!

If anyone here uses WeChat and can be kind enough to do this, then please let me know, and I will send the QR code.

 * Hopefully you are aware of what I am talking about (so you trust I am not making this up).

Kind regards,

Marc

Yes it is new. I had WeChat installed a couple years ago, uninstalled and then tried to install again recently and ran into the issue .. I approached it the same way I normally do, and gave up ????

I have a working WeChat.  Signed up in US years ago to chat with chinese friends who don't use Line.  I don't use it much anymore, but i believe it still works.  I don't see any menu item to verify new members though.  Does someone have to add you as a contact by your new QR code, and that activates you?
