Top virologist Dr Yong Poovorawan of Chulalongkorn University went on his personal Facebook page to expound his views on the pandemic in Thailand. 

 

He said that the first wave was the Chinese version of the virus. Testing revealed not much quantity of virus. 

 

Consequently it was relatively easily contained in Thailand. 

 

In December came what he called the "G" strain that came from migrants from neighboring countries. 

 

There was more quantity but it could still be contained. 

 

Now since the end of march Thailand was dealing with the UK variant and that was an entirely different kettle of fish.

 

Huge numbers of the virus were present in throat swabs and it was spreading fast and easily in places like families.

 

This was not under control in Thailand.

 

He stressed that the virus could not be eradicated, reported Daily News.

 

The best that could be achieved was herd immunity through vaccination.

Last year in March they stated the fist wave was caused by the Italian variant...????

 

There are new vaccines under development where they hope it will give life long protection for Corona , so hopefully they manage to do the trick. 

 

Bought stocks just in case, cause that will be a game changer if they manage to give life long protection. 

 

Meanwhile it's going to be a bumpy ride.

New variant from Vietnam seems to spread through air a lot faster. 

Not good. 

 

As for vaccines I got 1st shot of Pfizer 5 days ago, but still no antibodies detected in todays test, so I hope I'm not one of the few that can't develop proper antibodies.

If the bars were still open you could visit one of the bar "pretties"  After a few visits with one or more of them, you certainly would be developing some antibodies but not necessarily Covid specific.

Could they even test for it then?

Don't have to be an expert virlolgist to know that vaccines should create herd immunity but where are these vaccines and how long will it take to vaccinate population. Meanwhile there is high risk of further more infectious mutations  offering with such high infection rates especially in prison population. 

OP...there is only one strain so far...everything else referred to is a 'variant'...just wish they would get it right...you're giving people the impression there is more than one Sars-CoVi-2 virus.

Looks like this doctor may want to avoid China for a while or he may find himself in a re-education camp or prison cell for daring to mention the 'China' variant.  We all know China is perfect and never does anything wrong.  Their leader is their God.  Just read the CCP controlled media reports. 

Sounds like we have an International smorgasbord here of Variants, guess it might be time for the Kentucky Derby to have its own Variant.......
