INN reported that light to medium rainfall was experienced in many districts of Bangkok yesterday afternoon.

Recording 13.5 mm was Bang Khae on the Thonburi side.

With the rain came road accidents.

One involved a multiple pile up on the flyover crossing the Ladprao - Rachada intersection.

This cause a considerable traffic snarl inbound around 4.30 pm yesterday.

Bangkok has been experiencing high temperatures but little rain in recent weeks.

Yesterday's downpours provided a little relief from the scorching temperatures for the denizens of the Thai capital.

Taking the Mrs to Europe a few times i have driven in snow on numerous occassions in Winter.   She always says that if snow comes to Thailand there would be nobody lefy alive on the roads within 48 hours !

this makes sense because it rains so infrequently in thailand

Love to see how Thai's would get on driving in -40 deg C and in a blizzard where one can hardly make out the road - in Canada !!

A road that has been dry in hot climates gets a coating of grease, that with the addition of a little rain is very much like ice. A phenomena that used to catch many out in the Middle East when I first went to work there.
