The public reaction was positive at first, with many rushing to the comments section to wish Arisara a happy birthday. But things turned sour when photos and videos taken by local villagers showed parts of the fireworks raining down from the sky, only just missing their roofs, and causing noise pollution. This prompted complaints from netizens who condemned Arisara and Lee’s lack of consideration for the locals and other resort guests in flaunting their wealth. “I thought someone was getting bombed with all the noise,” wrote one Twitter user. “And look at the videos, it was just happening all so close to people’s homes.
